Get lost in the Corn Maze!

On Friday evening (October 14), we went on a trip to the Edmonton Corn Maze. Imagine a huge corn field being turned into a maze. Ho ho!

There were at least 30 of us I think. This event was organized by the International Center. Yee Ying thought that there would be spooky things in the maze to scare us. When we arrived there, we realized that, unlike a haunted house, it was all about getting lost in that huge maze. It was huge. Seriously.

Our group got lost in Phase 1. There was a Phase 2. And I don't think we covered it. There were two bridges in the maze. The bridges allowed us to estimate which direction is correct. Clues given in the form of questions based on your knowledge of Halloween. It was called a "Passport" and it consisted of twelve questions. Each question number corresponds to the sub-phase of each main phase (1 & 2). However, it was so impossible to find the exit using those clues. It was something like ...

Question 8
"What is the bla bla bla...?"
A. Bla (turn left)
B. Blah (turn left)
C. Bleh (turn right)
D. Bluek (turn right)

How can that direction (right or left) possibly tell us the correct direction, when anyone could arrive at the sub-phase from four different paths!!!!

In the end, we concluded that the stupid Passport was just a joke. It was just out to get you lost in the maze, haha.

Truthfully speaking, we were quite smart as we knew we had to head in one direction back to the exit (which was next to the entrance). Still, it took us an hour and a half to finally get out of the maze, haha.

And... I stole some corn...

HAHA!

Then again, I think this maze thing isn't very suitable for kids to play. Well, it would be alright with adult supervision. But we saw lots of unsupervised groups of children in the maze. And there was this little boy, who went missing for about an hour since we arrived.

All in all, it was fun! It was great fun after a week of stress from school >_<

Ooooohh...I love my new hair colour! Check it out ^^

My first time dyeing, hehe! Well Liana helped me on it :)

I'm back?

Haha. It's been three weeks since my last post. I have a feeling that this space of mine will be collecting dust and cob webs for the next few months. What to do ... I am a busy person, haha! Busy with school, of course ...

Anyway, I will just update a little on my birthday celebration and other minor events that took place after that.

On the morning of September 28, I received a "surprise". Well, I don't know if it can be classified as a surprise because I was informed that there would be a "surprise". Yee Ying told me not to leave the house for classes before 9.30 a.m. and so, I waited in my room until I heard a knock on the main door. I opened the door and saw a delivery man holding a bouquet of flowers for me. It was awesome! I received these really pretty flowers from Yee Ying and Liana :) Odd enough, it has been three weeks and the flowers are still not withering!

That night, my friends cooked a delicious curry meal. It was an all-girl party. It was not exactly a huge celebration because it was still a school day. Therefore, we had a simple dinner and played UNO cards after that. My my...I haven't played that game for ages! It was fun actually, especially when you are playing with crappy friends (hehe!).

Now, here comes the real surprise. For that whole week itself, Yee Ying and Liana kept dropping hints about mysterious and "scandalous" plans on purpose just to tease the hell out of me.

A month ago, Jackie sort of mentioned that I had to drink 22 shots on my birthday (20 shots because I have aged 20 years, and the other 2 shots are from the 2 shot glasses that I bought for him and his brother as a souvenier from Australia). The only thing I knew was that Jackie and Jonathan were coming over to our place on Friday night. However, Jackie made quite a few calls to Yee Ying that week, and I suspected something was going to happen. It was impending and I could smell it. And each time after a phone conversation with Jackie, she would come into my room, smile sheepishly at me, and inform me that "Harry" called (yeah, right). However, on Thursday night, she came into my room and told me that it was too difficult to actually plan something out because it was not convenient for both of them to make arrangements. Or something of that sort... and so, she just said that they would come over for sure, just to chill out at our place. Having said that, she reminded me that we would be at TnT Supermarket but had to be home by 7 pm issh because Jackie might rot while waiting for us at university. Then ... while we were deciding what to get for snacks at the supermarket ... mr Jackie Chee called my cellphone and told me that he wouldn't be able to come as he had to attend this friend's farewell party. In a serious tone, not even a slight hint of a joke, he told me that he would make up for it some other day. He apologized.

Well then, naturally, I was pretty disappointed but I was quite glad in a way because I knew that I won't have to drink 22 shots if he was not coming, haha! And cleverly, Yee Ying and Liana discussed about the significance of buying two huge Nacho bags in front of me. They decided not to buy it since the Chee brothers weren't coming anymore. And I felt that it sort of confirmed the fact that they were not coming anymore.

I was fooled.

When we arrived home, Yee Ying asked the person who had the easiest access to their house keys to open the door. So, mine was the easiest as it was in my pocket. I opened the door ... and was greeted by total darkness. Usually, we don't turn out the kitchen lights. But that night ... it was all turned off. And right in front of the main door, was the dining table where three liquor bottles stood behind a cake. All arranged nicely, with a balloon hanging at the stairs. The first thought that came to my mind was, "Am I goign to finish this all by myself?" I was confused because I thought he was not coming. Then, in the midst of my confusion, mr Jackie Chee popped out from the store room and shouted "Surprise!" Before I could catch my breath, I saw a few bright flashes coming from upstairs ... it was Jonathan Chee snapping photos of us coming into the house, haha.

It was a very nice surprise. And I totally believed whatever he said. Yee Ying acted so well at the supermarket...oh, even on the way home! On the bus, she was asking me what we should do for the night. Man ... haha!

So, you can guess what happened next. Three liquor bottles. Twenty-two shots shared among three people. Yee Ying can't drink and so it was me, Liana and Jackie. Jonathan can't drink either as he had to drive. We played twister on a smaller grid. Hah. According to them, in my drunken state, I squished an orange in a shot glass and poured whisky on it. And drank it. And I went "yeulch!" I passed it to Jackie and he went "yeulch" too. Also, we were arguing about physics. Apparently, I kept calling Jackie "horny" and "annoying". After four hours of supreme madness, I thought I felt a little sick. So I went up to the bathroom, and sat in front of the seat while I waited for the puking process to begin. And you know what, I actually fell asleep on the toilet seat. I did not puke at all. After they realized that I was quiet for 5 minutes in the bathroom, they came up to check on me. Yee Ying helped me to my bed and I slept right away zzzz.

That was one crazy night. Jackie stayed overnight and was at our place the whole day after that. It was pretty crazy too because he wanted to drink some more while I refused. The only highlight of that afternoon was the attack of the deodorant sprays. His weapon was the AXE spray and I had this pathetic cheap perfume which couldn't even spray a distance of 15 cm. That was pretty crappy.

So, that was the week of my birthday celebration! After that, it was Jackie's birthday. We spent him dinner at Kelsey's and went back to our place to chill out and play mahjong. I wanted to plan a surprise too but it was really difficult. Just wasn't convenient at all. Oh well.

Home: KL, Malaysia

I am someone who frets a lot - I call it a psychological disorder. I am constantly trying to escape my complex mind which, very often, drives me and my close companions to the edge of insanity. Born under the sun star Libra, I am greatly affected by a disease called "indecisiveness". Nicknames were never part of my dictionary until I met some people who decided to name me "turtle". Soon, I was representing a zoo of hamsters, "sotongs", pigs, cats, etc...
